This is the first time in the decade-or-so that I have been here, that rain has come this early in fall. However, after such a weird summer, I'm glad it's here.

Where is here?
It rained a little over the past couple days and during the night and I find it nothing unusual. The fact is our rain total here in Sequim, PA, PT and Forks is below average with no real water shortage to water the lawn or wash the car at all.

Temperature has been in the high to mid 50's during the night and mid to high 60's during the day for weeks now. Nothing special at all.
Nothing weird about our summer at all...in fact I enjoyed the warm, dry weather.

Side note..no major forest fires this season on the Peninsula. A couple days of smoke blowing in from Canada was the worst of it but like I said it only lasted a couple days.

We have been getting high winds.
I haven’t hooked up our whole house generator yet. It’s on my to do list.
Our power line goes through lots of trees to get to our house so I cringe when we get high winds.

No rain in Wenatchee.

Sunny skies and 70 degrees this afternoon.

Bodes bad for fire season as the hordes cross the Cascades thinking fire season is over.

Got a downpour today in Queen Anne, Seattle. I took a nice long walk with my hood down to enjoy it.

We got a good soaking rain around the Olympia area today. The guys were mowing, trimming and removing tree branches all day. I was afraid they’d take off, but they worked through the rain. It’s wonderful to see rain after months of dry.
