Pouring rain rain rain here now! Could be none more wet, as they say.

Surprisingly enough we have a little bit of snow remaining down below. Most is melted. The light you can see between the trees is actually creek where creek shouldn’t be. Our local rivers down here including the Chehalis and the Newaukum are likely to reach major flood stages by tomorrow. Our little creek down below flows into the Chehalis so when the Chehalis is flooding we also flood.

We may head out sometime today and especially tomorrow to take a look around and might be able to get some pictures to share.

We got 7" of snow in Bellingham last night. We were forecast to warm up a lot and change to rain, but so far the southern warm front has not moved in and appears to be sliding east and stalling out in Skagit county instead with some of the moisture moving up the highway 9 valley. The cold Frasier River NE winds (its anywhere from 20* to -3* in this area) continue to outflow into Whatcom county and could end up proving the weatherman wrong if they continue. We'll essentially have a "snow turbocharger" fed moisture from the south east with the nor'easter blast freezing it, with potentially interesting results. It could play out like the the winter of 1996-1997 when we got 3' of snow overnight when only 2-4" was forecast.

Lots of flooding happening in Rochester, Tenino, Bucoda, Centralia/Chehalis. Might be near records from 2007.

Hopefully pictures and update tomorrow.

Flooding everywhere today.

Our little creek down below is probably higher than it's ever been. Will take pictures of that later.

I think we've had 6 inches of rain in the last 24 or so hours.

They just closed I-5 both directions between Rochester here and Centralia due to flooding. ALL the mountain passes are closed because of very heavy snow.

I would love to drive around and look, but of course lots of our local roads are closed too, and it's probably smarter to just stay home. Hubby will try to get the drone up later to look.

Picture is of Hwy 6, right where the exit from I-5.

Crazy flooding in parts of the state. Down in southern WA we had some rain which gave way to clearing and sun. It was nice to finally see some clearing which has been a while. There's light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there.

Flooding has been major here in Rochester. Also serious in Centralia/Chehalis.

The Chehalis River flows through the Rochester area, and the main creeks in the area, Scatter Creek (which we live on), and the Black River both flow into the Chehalis. When the Chehalis is full, our creek has no where to go. This flood is at least equal to the 2007 flood here, if not a little worse, because of the development that has happened.

Below are just a couple shots of the flooding around our immediate area, taken by a friend of ours with his drone. Much of the flooding is in agricultural farm land where such flooding is expected and part of life, but some is in areas that have become more residential, and that's too bad.

Hubby is working on some drone pictures he took today of our property and surrounding area... I may post a couple of his too, if they add interest here. The scope of the flooding around here is huge, just trying to show a couple snapshots.

Edited to add pic of our place and flooded creek from our drone. Hubby finally got them finished.

Wow, that's some crazy flooding near you. Nice drone pics which gives a good bird's eye view of things. It looks like you are up on a little hill or slope. So, that helps you guys. But those residential homes in the flats do not look so fortunate.
