Here it is.

The details of the Omicron variant are becoming clearer, and they are encouraging.

They’re not entirely encouraging, and I will get into some detail about one of the biggest problems — the stress on hospitals, which are facing huge numbers of moderately ill Covid-19 patients. But regular readers of this newsletter know that I try to avoid the bad-news bias that often infects journalism. (We journalists tend to be comfortable delivering bad news straight up but uncomfortable reporting good news without extensive caveats.)

Thank you. Encouraging. I hope people who read the article also see the recommendations of the medical professionals and realize that health officials are following those recommendations.

I didn’t bring this up to argue pork or inform you on how to cook.
I just saw another weak government safety policy that reeks of the current situation.
It lasted 149 years LOL.

Cook your pork however you want just don’t tell me how to deal with mine and we are good .
At the time the higher cooking temp was recommended the risk of trichinosis from under cooked pork was significant. That is no longer true. Pigs raised in confinement are unlikely to have the parasite. Those allowed to range where they are in contact with wildlife and rodents may be. Therefore you want to know the source of the meat.

Respectfully speaking 145 degrees will kill all the bad in pork.
Always has always will.
165 was out of ignorance and fear.
Cheers.

I’m sure there a perfectly logical reason for that though .
If only there were a Chicago forum.

I looked it up. You’re right! There’s a bit of leeway for faulty thermometers, but you don’t need 15 degrees to cover that.

Have at it. Go hug someone with Covid, spread it to your friends and family. That is so much smarter than getting vaccinated and wearing masks since Omicron is so mild we now have the highest hospitalization rate during the entire pandemic.
Raise your hand if you think Omicron is mild and our path to herd immunity. Great, now go sit in the back of the room. And take off those silly red hats while you're at it.

Hey liberals. Don't worry, a 4th shot is soon to come, but fewer and fewer people will take them.
