Ok I know I posted this back a few months ago but I will try again. What I am looking for is property management companies in the snohomish county area that has rental properties. I am not looking for a an apt...but if it comes to that we will rent an apt. We are looking for a house/townhouse or duplex to rent that has a fenced yard for our small dog. I have found a couple online, but is there someone in the area that can recommend an agency that has a url so I am able to look at there available homes online since I am not in the area?? This will be so deeply appreciated and I hope people understand what I am looking for now.

I have been looking too and although some are now coming around to renting out overbuilt neighborhoods, expect to pay more in rent than what it would have cost to buy the house.

???? I'd have to say that housing purchase price + tax + insurance + home repair = way more expensive than renting, just saying.

To the original poster, have you not looked at craigslist? Tons of rentals in the area you want, from cheap to expensive. As to looking at something online, usually most places won't reserve something for you if you are out of state. Most good rentals go very quickly. I had 12 rental homes that I never had to advertise, just put up a for rent sign and gone in a day or two at the most.

Good luck, you'll find a rental don't sweat it, but I'd dare say craigslist is one of the better places to find a rental.

ie.

there was a house that was on sale for $399k....recently dropped down to $349k. With no money down a simple 30 yr fixed with no fixins @ 6.125% would have been $2100ish. That same house was put on market as a rental and I inquired about it. $2700 a month with $3500 deposit. Thats definitely a lot more expensive than buying. And tax? deductible....repairs? You don't think that the property management WON'T charge me for those repairs if I rent do you?

I am not saying that renting is more expensive than buying.....if you read my post carefully what I am saying is that if you try to rent one of the over abundant new homes that are sitting empty, expect to pay more than what you would have if you were to buy it straight out.

Im not looking to rent anything new. I just want something in a decent area to put a roof over our heads until we get to know the area and then buy when we find a neighborhood that we can call home instead of putting money down on a house in a neighborhood and then say we made the biggest mistake ever by buying. I have looked at CL but get frustrated when you find something in your price range and it has no pics. Will keep searching and see what we come up with.
