Okay. Seattle in general is overall bad that way relative to the rest of the state; anything on the east side of Lake Washington is probably safer on average. Tacoma, also bad. Not terrible as in you expect it all the time and live in war zone, but surely bad. Everett, probably also bad.

Vancouver, rather less so, Spokane much less so, Tri-Cities still less so. Yakima is probably on a par with the Seattle average for crime, but the comparison isn't fair because huge cities always have more crime per capita. If *** manages to be as rough as Seattle that way with 1/10 the people in the surrounding area, that's pretty amazing.

What I would do is look up the state's crime statistics by county and see where the hot spots are, because I fully admit that up above I am flying by the seat of my pants and don't know the actual numbers. If you find a county that is high in crime per capita, this forum can probably tell you where most of that crime is located and why.

How about North by the border of Vancouver or in Whatcom Co?
There it isn't an urban setting like Seattle. Seattle reminds me of San Francisco.

I don't know. I've heard stuff about the Russian mob causing trouble up there, but I don't know to what extent that affects the general population. It depends on whom they prey, and if indeed they have a significant presence. This I don't know.

Strange that you should mention that because I have heard of the same thing.

Tacoma is cleaning up a bit, Spanaway is full of a bunch of "wanksters," Seattle is still sucky as ever. Best places to move would be to either Puyallup, Graham, Gig Harbor, or Bonney Lake. Lived in Washington for the nineteen years I've lived, so you can trust me on this.

Oh and I forgot to mention Blaine, Washington. About a 30 minute drive to the Canadian border. Beautiful, and you've got to live close to Birchbay, also beautiful. It's country, and it's definately not ghetto.

Birch Bay is nice but the prices go up compared to Custer.

You mean a 30 minute drive to Vancouver, eh? It's right on the border itself.
