horse heaven hills, it's just an area in the hills, it must burn during the summer sometimes. Sounds funny though, it sounds as if they are cremating their horses. LOL

Thank you! I have been waiting several days for some one to set my mind at rest on that one!

Man! I have read so many conflicting reports of the Tri-cities area...it's hard to know what's what. guess I'll just have to visit. Is Walla Walla similar?

Kukla, I think Walla Walla is a smaller place than the tri-cities, but I haven't been there yet. I have read in some of the posts that it is a quaint town. I only moved up here in Jan. so put Walla Walla into the search at the top of the page and you will find several posts on the subject. Good Luck

Walla Walla's a little ways away from the Tri-Cities, maybe a half-hour. The climate's very similar (a little less desert-y), but it's a bit too far from the river for my tastes. It's a fun little college town, though. Very nice, very pretty. (Definitely small in comparison to the Tri-Cities--I think 30,000 vs. 230,000 or something like that. But it's not tiny by any means.) The Tri-Cities and the surrounding area are wonderful, too. Stop by and visit, though; I'd definitely suggest doing so to find out for yourself what it's like.

Fair warning, though: if you want to avoid 85 degress in the summer, STAY OUT OF SOUTHEASTERN WASHINGTON. Oh my heavens, 90 degrees is a cool summer day. We usually have multiple days over 100. No humidity, and really it's not as bad as you think to have high temperatures, but if you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
