Since growing up, Yakima hasn't had too many exciting shows. I'm looking forward to seeing David Cook at the Capitol Theatre on August 23rd, but not because I'm a huge David Cook fan, just because it's a concert with an artist that actually has some songs on the radio.

Is it because everyone buys their tickets at the door so promoters are scared to bring big name shows here or what's going on?

Haven't had a real rock concert here in 10 or so years (w/the exception of Saving Abel and that bunch last winter.) I think because the Gorge Amphitheater has siphoned a lot of acts away from here.
Once in a blue moon, the Sundome will have a major country-western act for one or two nights. It also hosted the Blue Man Group a couple of years ago. That would have been fun to go to.
Legends Casino also sometimes has someone worth going to.

Sounds about the same as the Tri-Cities. It's frustrating but not surprising when you have Seattle, Portland, The Gorge and Spokane all nearby.

I remember a couple years ago when Thousand Foot Krutch came here. I had heard their songs on the radio and was pretty excited when they came. Was a good show at a small club in Richland.

I was shocked this January when Disturbed with Sevendust and Skindred played in Kennewick. I thought that was probably one of the biggest shows we've had here in a long time.

Slipknot will be here the 23rd. I like some of their music but not something I listen to very often. But still a fairly large act.
