My mother has lost her leg due to an amputation and we now live in Kentucky. She has seen (she is considered offically blind). Her dreams are to go to Washington and move to the areas that around the mountains. She has loved so much the mountains.

That's too bad that she's got health problems. Do you have a question?

I'll just guess sue... wants suggestions, but little info provided, and lots of mtns available.

I would suggest Wenatchee since it is in an area the 'looks at the mtns' (which you can actually see during the winter, being on the 'dry (east) side' of Cascade range, rather then the rainy side). Also decent medical and transportation services, semi-affordable homes (but not compared to KY), and decent access to Seattle

I would think Sue... would consider the Mtns of TN as a more reasonable option, as her mom may not like WA culture (Which is WAY different than KY).

Colorado, WY, SD, UT, MT all have nice places that are in or near the mtns. But all are pretty expensive places to live due to our proximity to CA (whos previous equity and Fed primary home tax rules destroyed home values in western USA, by driving them to the moon, only astronauts can afford to pay for the home AND subsequent (inflated) taxes).

Sue might want to elaborate...:
Price points for housing, climate preferences, need for medical / transportation / schools, recreation preferences, job needs ...
