I think you have to be in the know to know Hilltop's greatness. MLK has been waiting for a few key projects to get off the ground so it can shine. There are still some great businesses up there that cater to Tacoma's hip crowd. Fulcrum Gallery, Tempest Lounge, 1022 South, Quickie Too Vegan Cafe, Pho Bac, LeLe....
For every rundown house there are multiple nice remodeled houses.
And as it has been said before Hilltop and Downtown Tacoma have one of the lowest crime rates in the city.
