Does anyone know of the perfect place for me?
I would love to live in a smaller town on the coast with a college close by. I live in AZ now and I am in need of seasons, trees, and outdoor activities! I have a young daughter so safety is a must! Help!

If 'inland coast' (Puget Sound) is ok, Fairhaven (just south of Bellingham) would be a good choice. Tad spendy for housing, but probably worth it, as resale will stay high. There are some more 'affordable' areas in town, and crime will be low and community supportive. WWU is just on top of the hill to the north (south side of Bellingham).

The only other four year school I can think of on saltwater in WA state is Evergreen,in Olympia, considered kind of a sister to Fairhaven in that they were products of the 60's/early 70's and still have a reputation for attracting artsy hippie types, and both schools are better regarded outside of the state of Washington than within it's borders. Evergreen has produced a number of famous graduates.
