I think you will find most Hospitals go out of their way to cater to physicians... the patient may be paying the bills, but it is the Docs that bring them in for scheduled procedures.

High Volume Surgeons... i.e. profitable ones, basically get Carte Blanche everywhere...

Yes... but it's gotten worse over the years. And management now calls them "clients". Hardly a conducive atmosphere for quality care. I've worked all over this country in med facilities for 30 years, so yes, I know $$ is god - but this place takes the cake.

I've lived in WA my whole life, and have family in Tacoma. Honestly, I would never move there. (and no, I'm not a snooty Seattleite. I've lived north and south of Seattle, but never actually in the city) There are many beautiful, clean places to live in WA and the further you get from Seattle/Bellevue, the more affordable they become. Look around more before you decided on Tacoma.

You might find a better fit for your needs a little farther south, more towards the Olympia area. Good luck!

Tacoma is a beautiful and amazing city, nothing like Seattle. It is in a constant state of change and growth. It's working class. The people here are great, they say hello when you make eye contact, talk to you in the fast food restaurant, open doors for you, etc. Again, nothing like Seattle or the North Sound. If you want land go somewhere else, like Puyallup or Lacey.
