Washington ranks in the middle of the top 15 according to this.

To be taken with a grain of salt, but I think they're onto something with some of the indicators (wealthier, healthier, and more tolerant regions tend to have a more content populace).

Yes... but WA scored statistically the same as CA...

Heh, actualy all 50 states were fairly close numerically, I'm not sure either how big of a difference that .1 is supposed to make other than for a relative stack ranking. With standard deviation and all of that considered in statistics, it's probably even more ambiguous.
