Yes, it is amazing place. Where I took this picture is pretty much the highest point of the trail. We went down to the lake and there was only one more person there. The fact that it is quite a hard trail means it is also very quiet. Apparently there is a lot of bear-activity there. Unfortunately we did not spot any but we met a couple on our way up who said they'd just seen a bear on the meadows you you get to after leaving the wooded part of the trail. Unfortunately it had gone when we got there...I still haven't seen a bear

I managed to see two in the North Cascades last summer. The first was in British Columbia but still in the North Cascades

The other bear was a trail bear rather than a road bear.

No off the main road in Manning Provincial Park. We approached it a bit. It looked at us for a few seconds and then went back to nibbling grass or whatever it was. Maybe 25 feet away?

Not smart, but it seemed rather docile.

Do you have 500px or Flickr with these pics? Would love to see larger ones. Some of your pics are screaming to be used as desktop backgrounds.

yeah, all my images are hosted on flickr: Flickr: Urban Disturbance's Photostream

But I think I have restricted the downloads, if you let me know which one(s) you like I can send you a link to the large version.

More from the Gorge. Lots of gnarly oak trees in that area.
