I read some dicussion of flying into the Olympia Airport on another thread, but couldn't find it easily, so I started a new one.

I've been checking to see if there are any commercial flights into Olympia. Does anyone know if there are any? I've only been able to find flights to Sea-Tac and Portland. On the internet it looks like the airport is only for private aircraft and not commercial. I'd be flying out of Sacramento International Airport (SMF) or Sacramento Executive Airport.

It seems to me that the commercial flights into Olympia are very limited. It's a regional airport limited to the puddle-jumper-type commuter runs I think.

Perhaps somebody who is more familiar with this can give you better information.

Remember, SeaTac International (SEA) is less than an hour away from Olympia and is the region's largest airport. I'm sure if you're flying in from Sacramento, you'll want to come into and go out of SEA for better schedules. I'm almost certain that there is not going to be a direct flight from Sacramento to the Olympia airport.

Olympia Airport currently has no commercial air service. I believe in the past it has, but evidently it wasn't profitable enough.

From Olympia your best bet is to drive the hour to SeaTac. It's a little further to Portland, which is the other option.

In my opinion, one of the bigger downsides to the Olympia area is the airport situation, and there is currently no good mass transit solution to get to the airport either.
