My husband and I are moving to Olympia in August. We are going to be there in 2 days to look for an apartment. We are having a really hard time finding information about where to live. We are younger (<35), have no children and are fairly liberal. We live to be close to activity (restaurants, nightlife, shopping, etc). We are looking to rent to start with and have a bugdet on ~$1100/month. ANY tips of neighborhoods or specific rentals/complexes would be MUCH appreciated. TIME IS RUNNING OUT! Thank you all so much.

Default Olympia Night Life?

Olympia is a relatively small city... If you are looking for big ciy nightlife I think you may be disappointed. Finding a place to rent should not be a problem with all the building going on in the area... Good Luck and Welcome.

I know the city is pretty small. We don't need a big night life- just don't really know where to live. THANKS!

There are many rental places near the Capitol. I would check these out first. I have lived in many of them and enjoyed them all. Plus they are all within walking distance of downtown, lake and jogging path that crosses over the freeway. Basically look at anything south of downtown I believe bordered by the lake and freeway--all close to the Capitol. Nice walks at night year round too--bonus.
