Temps at the city site were about 2C warmer overall and precipitation was approximately 25% more than the figures listed above for the airport. Overall, Vancouver was about 1C warmer than the long-term average with the total precipitation year round approximately normal. However, the monthly distribution of precipitation was not normal. July had drought conditions with only 0.6mm rainfall recorded compared to our normal 39.6mm and September had 166.4mm recorded which is more than 3 times the average total of 53.5mm for that month.
Wow, take 2C off your January (I know it was exceptionally mild) and put it on November (don't know how normal that is) and all those figures plus the extremes would be quite plausible for southern England. Glad we don't get nearly as much rain though. How much sun did you get?

That's an impressive seasonality in your year's precipiation
Yeah, January was exceptionally mild. Actually, I think I remember them saying it was the 2nd or warmest on record. So warm in the winter, it caused problems on the local mountains for the winter Olympics. They had to bring in snow from the interior.
Not sure about sunshine totals as Environment Canada only lists long term averages and I'm not sure why.... something I should look into one of these days.

I think November was exceptionally cold for the US west coast, especially Northern California (places that don't normally experience frost experienced frost) and the Pacific Northwest. So I assume it was cold for November in Vancouver.
Just announced on the news- Tampa FL area experienced the coldest December on record. Jan 10 was one of the coldest January's with an unheard of 4 nights below 32 degrees.
