This is incredible. I never imagined such high dewpoints could occur in these areas. It's like getting high dew points in central coastal California. These are exciting times for Australia. We are truly seeing history in the making.
Our summers often feel humid but dew points and heat indexes are rarely quoted so I didn't know if 24C dp was possible in the UK...turns out the record for the British Isles was only 23.8C, and that in Ireland, and before I was born, so yeah that sounds pretty humid to me for a place near the desert by a cold sea!

'Only' 24 C? For a bunch of subarctic islands surrounded by seas that seldom exceed 15 C (presumably) a 24 C dew point is amazing. New Zealand has barely seen higher than that at 34 S!

At it's coldest, the sea around the UK is between 6C-11C (north to south), and at it's warmest 15-20C. In shallow areas on the south coast, it's normal to have water temps above 20C in summer.
London's average summer dewpoint is around 15C, and rarely gets much above 21C in an average summer.
Wonder what the record is for Perth? We don't hear much about dewpoints so I have no idea what an 18C or 24C dewpoint feels like.
I've seen dewpoints as high as 18-19 C in places like Fremantle.
That is probably typical of their muggiest summer days.
A short distance inland like at Perth Intl, 15 C seems to be the normal max dewpoint.
Put a rain coat on when the dewpoint is 15 C
and you'll get a fair idea what a dewpoint in the low 20's C feels like.
