Not my ideal climate, but like the poll said, I learn to live with what I have. Otherwise, I love it where I am. And about half the year it's downright pleasant here in North Texas.

The summers aren't really as bad as people make it out to be. They are generally sunny and warm the majority of the time. The five days of gloom was a nice break from the 90 days of sunshine and hot temperatures.
But we get enough consecutive gloom and doom days in the winter, so in the summer, that's just depressing. And I'm sure summer 2010 was nice and sunny in Scranton as it was in most Northeast cities. I can remember summer 2000 in Scranton as being a "lost summer" along with 2003. Those 2 years stick out for being a downright Debbie Downer.

Back to the main question-- I don't really live in my ideal climate (Pittsburgh). I have a love/hate relationship with the weather here. There are plenty of sunny nice days, but there are also plenty of overcast depressing days. They tend to balance out though. The weather here doesn't really ruin everything. Yes, sometimes the snow and rain can get annoying, but they tend to be moderate. The rain comes and goes unlike in some places (cough Seattle cough). So really, the biggest turnoffs in Pittsburgh (like most Northeastern cities) are the cold winters and high number of cloudy days (even though we do receive a decent amount of sunny days). Yesterday it reached 64 here and it was like a holiday. Today, it's back to typical Feb cold -- 30 something degrees. But the cold is no big deal because the sky is clear blue and sunny. Still an enjoyable day.

I live in Pennsylvania as well, and I agree. Summer is usually very nice, but every once in awhile you get a cool, rainy summer. This is quite depressing when this happens.

I do, even though it has its fault (our climate isn't perfect).

I moved here mostly for the climate, because I hated the sunny, hot climate in CA so after 40 years had enough and came here where we have 9-10 months of nice cool weather and rain, and only 2-3 months of sunny and hot, and then only about 85 maximum most years.

I live in as close to my ideal climate as I can reasonably get. I do wish summers were a bit sunnier and maybe a few degrees warmer, but honestly the fog and cooler weather is far, FAR preferable to me over the hot inland California summers and the coast redwoods thrive in this climate, and I would never trade those magnificent trees for a slightly warmer and sunnier climate.

But hey, this autumn has been really forgiving thus far.
