Have you found a perfect match for your town/city/ region elsewhere in the world? I would think there aren't any perfect matches, but maybe some pretty close ones.

The closest I can find for here(Motueka/Nelson) are in Tasmania(no surprise). Biarritz in France seems reasonably close, but with min temps 2-3 C higher all year, also more rainy days and less sun. Parts of southern Oregon and Chile are similar temp wise, but rainfall totals and patterns are too different.

I would be interested in climates similar to your own. The further away the better, but any match is still of interest.

Seattle and Paris are the main ones I can think of.

Seattle and Paris look like a close match, although Seattle is sunnier.

Vancouver looks like a better match for London, although wetter and sunnier.

I can't find anything that matches if I count precipitation-wise. Almaty, Kazakistan is a suprisingly good match, but the winter daily highs are colder and the summer nights are warmer. Less diurnal range in general and much drier.

I used to live in the NYC suburbs and Milan is a fairly close match but the winters are a bit too warm. Bucharest, Romania isn't a bad match but it's way too dry. Both of them are a bit too cloudy.

This was discussed in an earlier forum, but Pelotas in Brazil has a very close match to Sydney in terms of a) temp range throughout the year, b) rainfall and c) sunshine:

A) Pelotas, Brazil: Pelotas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
B) Sydney, Australia: Sydney - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If I was to nit pick, Pelotas is marginally warmer has marginally less rain, but Sydney has marginally more sunshine.

It seems very difficult to find a close match in terms of North American cities due to Sydney having mild winters but non-hot summers.

They both look like perfect climates. I like that Pelotas has slightly warmer summers. A bit damp, though.

i like the climate of Sydney also. It gets a bit muggy at times, but pretty good overall.
