Don't recall any punishment outlawed by the Eighth Amendment when our AC broke in August. Just felt like the room temperature was slightly too warm. Very doable with ceiling fans.

but for how long?

after a day it was 112°F in my house and vegetation started growing up the walls. the toughest part was battling with the alligators encroaching on our territory. i lost 2 of my brothers.

seriously though it was in the low 80's after 2 days, and horribly stuffy. mid 80's by the fourth day and finally got someone out to the house, took so long due to the high influx of calls during the season. any longer and we would have went to a hotel.

Mid 80s isn't that bad. We voluntarily had the AC off in June with room temps approaching 90 F. It was broken for about a week last August with similar conditions. People in Florida seem to have the worst heat tolerance of anyone in the country due to the pervasive AC culture.

90% humidity at 98F is a dewpoint of 95F. Is that your final answer?

yea mid 80's doesn't sound that bad but i swear it feels worse inside a building. no breeze or fresh air. and i say we would have left if it was any longer also because it was getting worse. probably would have been in the upper 80's by day 7.

I don't have A/C, and I'd find mid 80s barely tolerable to sleep at night.

Are you trolling me or what? A 95F dewpoint is IMPOSSIBLE in the United States.

pffft hey maybe i was in a hellish microclimate never witnessed by humanity before. but yea probably an exaggeration. might have been 80F dewpoint on a 90°F with 70% humidity or something idk just doesn't sound right because all i remember is looking at the forecasts and seeing upper 90's (98, 99, etc.) for a week straight and living through it, it was so very very hot and humid. and cloudy, yet so hot and humid still. and felt like it was going to rain. but it didn't.
