NICE pics, it looks like a totally different season in TN, we should look like that before May. The birds have been chirping since 3 AM, this morning I saw more green on the tips of branches, most trees just have huge buds though. However in some spots color is actually dominant over the "dead".
Nice pics! Thanks for sharing! No green trees around here, unless you are looking at all the pines! Lawns are turning green and crocuses are out!
Friday/Saturday are going to be brutal, a reminder Spring is very fickle in Wisconsin!!!
Thanks, yeah it wont be long up your way. We were at that stage in late February and early March, though our grass stays mostly green in most places, but it really starts getting thick if we have a milder late February or early March - we even have to mow in March most of the time, which is about normal for us... then in mid to late March you see trees starting to pop out here, and really in early April. By late April most all of our trees are full and by early May they are full and lush.
Within a week our trees will look like they do there in the pics of Knoxville... they are on average about 7-10 days ahead of us. You can see in my pics, as you see the ones in "northeast" Tennessee comparted to Knoxville that the ones in Knoxville are a little more progressed... only a little farther south and 500 ft. lower elevation can do that is amazing.
We have progressed more since I posted these, we have had two more really warm days and more rain. Kinda cool tomorrow, showery and mid 60s, but back in the 80s all next week, so most everything should finish filling out here.
Its funny how things green up from south to north as the weeks progress and of course you have to factor in elevation... we have a mountain that we can easily see to our southeast... the summit is 4400 ft, still no leaves on the trees up there, usually about early May before that happens. I have been looking at the live webcams for the highest mountain in Georgia at 4800 ft (Brasstown Bald) and still no leaves there either for the most part, but you head down to Atlanta, the trees are completely full and well underway north of there in Asheville @ 2200 ft.

Thanks!
Sounds like its about time there.... the buds will be exploding with foliage soon!
This is from the valley webcam this morning. The Tetons are in the background, but you'd never know it lately. This is the valley floor at only about 6,300'. You don't have to go up much in elevation to find a lot more snow than what is in this picture. I don't mind the snow, but I need some sun.

That is a beautiful scene, where is it? Wyoming? Looks cold there. That is a rare scene even in the middle of winter here, lol.
At 5 am this morning, there was 3 inches of snow on the grassy areas. It's not even 10am and it's almost all melted. Supposed to snow on and off all day.
Not too many Spring-like temps lately! This weekend, rain, sleet, very windy, and now I hear another storm moving in with snow possible!
I can deal with the snow, doesn't last at this time of year, but I want some sunshine!
Me too! It's been so glum here, and non-stop rain with dabs of snow mixed in. Last night Chicago got .6 of snow and Lake County got 2 inches. And of course the forecast calls for no sunshine for the next 10 days.
Springs progressing very slow in MN. we've had a few nice days in the 60's so far but its been mostly around 45F-55F for the last few weeks. But now we have another Winter Storm coming with possibly
6-10 inches of snow tuesday night through wednesday. I was at our families Lake cabin last weekend in Northern MN to start getting things ready for summer and it was like it was december again 6" of new snow 30 mph winds the lake is still completely covered in ice. Its seems like this winter will never end.
The sun came out for a few minutes! While you still couldn't see the mountains, the hills to the south were visible for the first time in many days.
This is looking south from my backyard:
