So it looks like there's another snowstorm headed for the Northeast tonite. Sadly for those of us who enjoy the warm sun, i don't think there will be a spring and summer this year. I want to know, which will happen first? Getting some good Spring weather on a Saturday or Sunday? (sorry, but nice days don't count if they are during the work week) Or, will the Nationals make the playoffs first? For the first and probably the last time in my life, my money is on the Nats.

You winter lovers out there must be having the time of your lives this year! I really need to start skiing or something, give myself something to look forward to in the cold months. If only it weren't so expensive.

Um it's been a very mild March so far. March isn't supposed to be warm. A typical March is colder than November. And snow even in April not that uncommon. So I would relax a little and have patience.

Didn't you have 70-80F one day last week? Here we've only had one day in the 60s so far, and that today (and tomorrow/day after/day after that :P)

Here is the record for March so far:
History : Weather Underground

15 out of 22 days have been above average, some considerably so. But the next week or so is forecasted to be below average.

Whoa. What a difference 140 miles makes.

History : Weather Underground

below average here. It's not forecast to go above 40°F (4°C) till next Tuesday (a whole week). Average high this time of year is roughly 50°F (10°C).

The question we are asking out in my part of the world is, "Will it ever be dry again?"

Our last dry day was Feb 27th and the NWS is predicting a series of weak storms to persist until the 28th at least. Up to now we have had 6.11 inches of rain at Corvallis' (OR) official weather station and we have nine days to go. Historical average for March rainfall is 4.34" over 17 days. The chances are very good we'll see at least 28 days this month and maybe all 31 of them.

Temperatures are running only 1.5 degrees behind seasonal norms but with as much cloud and gloom as we have had this month (after a glorious January and February!) it feels much cooler. I don't have a handle on the number of sunshine hours yet this month but I would guess less than 30.

Yeah feels like spring has been slow to arrive here as well. In fact, temperatures only feel a few degrees warmer now than they were in the dead of winter. Things are starting to bloom but they seem to be taking their sweet time this year.

We are snowy, cold and below average! Looking out my front window this a.m., a total winter wonderland but finally some sunshine! Eight inches of snow yesterday.

We won't see high 30's for a week they say and normal would be around 42-43! Strange weather! Last year at this time it was very mild. I was at my sisters in "da UP of Upper Michigan", her yard was free of snow and quite mild.
