absolutely down right brutal.. i would say now is a good time to stock up on foul weather gear..

yuk, the thought of that time of year after coming out of a bad one here. Good luck, although southern hemisphere cold can never quite match what we get. Everyone here is itching for summer, at least the folks I know.

Yep, me, too after shoveling 8" of snow today! I'm thinking Spring but looking out at major snow!

I honestly don't want to think about winter 2011-12 until some time in September. It is too far off to make a prediction, and I want to think warm thoughts.

I don't want to think about another winter just as this one is hardly getting to an end.

Though maybe this thread is targeted to our southern hemisphere posters?

Ughh...I forgot about the southern Hemisphere...

Outside of Antarctica, portions of Patagonia and the upper Andes, what southern hemisphere area has "real" winters...by real I mean sub 32 F/0 C teamps at some point during the day for at least 80 to 90% of the time for months...

Winter is the last thing on my mind since it just finished less than a month ago lol.

I wish our Winters were brutal by your standards lol, I'll take 60's & 70's any day (except for Summer).
