Buenos Aires - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At latitude 34 latitude from the equator. Its hottest month is around 30C/20C and coldest 14C/7C. Prone to Antarctic cold spells as the record lows show. It's a humid subtropical climate, with a diurnal range of around 10C (18F) for much of the summer and its lows are not very hot.
Precipitation seems plentiful year round with a drier winter that nonetheless has around roughly a half to a third of the summer's.

Do you think the city lives up to its namesake of fair winds or pleasant air?

I don't know about the sunshine hours but it seems more pleasant than the hotter parts of the Mediterranean with thunderstorms breaking up the summer heat and stopping the grass from going brown and the dry winters. I'll give it a B, losing a few points for the sticky summer days. The summer record lows and winter record highs are remarkable.

A solid A. Summers like NYC but without the cold winters. A bit sticky in the summer, but not bad. Precipitation good, has some seasonal variation. I assume the sunshine is decent?

I'll give it a B- (probably should be C). A bit humid in summer, rainfall a bit high for my taste. Sunshine quite good. Have been there in autumn and spring, when it was very pleasant indeed. A great city for a visit, thoroughly enjoyed on several occasions.

A solid "B" for me. Winters are pretty good and no worse than somewhere like Melbourne even if the record lows are a bit colder. Summers look pleasant and warm which is nice.

Too humid and rainy but otherwise ok. "Winters" too warm.

See now this almost has a perpetual summer, but fall/spring does make a brief appearance. Still way too warm though. Also, too much precipitation and humidity. D-.

This is not a perpetual summer by Southern Hemisphere standards.
In fact, climate is slightly more continental than the corresponding latitude is Australia or South Africa, albeit only moderately.
South America has a tapering continent, that prevents true continental winters, and thus becomes somewhat maritime.
Overall this climate is very similar to what I am used to, just a shade more continental as said, and rainfall is a tad high. Rating A-.
