Overall, a nice start to Autumn. Slightly warmer and significantly sunnier than average, but more drizzle than I would have liked. A lot of chilly mornings to let us know that winter is coming. Liquefaction dust continues to be a nuisance.
Is it really that bad in north London? I'll post the Heathrow averages in a couple of days but the March average there is about 11.5C.
These are unofficial figures (there is an official Hampstead site, but by the time they put the March figures up it will probably be so late I'm not bothered by then), yet accurate enough, I'd say. Hampstead is one of the highest parts of the city, and a little bit away from the heat island - I noticed the snow stuck around there a little longer than what I saw of the rest of the city. The averages I use are estimates taken from nearby sites and adjusted for the location. Most months are 1-2 degrees less than at Heathrow.

Are you sure about that? Here are the official Met Office averages. Looks as though 7.0 is about right for North London, and just a little warmer to the lower ground of the west, e.g. Heathrow, and other lower-lying places for that matter.
