Those four days I was in DC featured some real back & forth weather. Was about 48 F and sunny the first day, the second day reached 60 F with sunny skies before a sharp cold front came through and dropped the temps into the thirties with cold rain, and then the last two days it was in the twenties and thirties with on and off flurries.
I have seen pics of those, there are a couple windmills in that area too and some sabal minors.

Looks silly IMO, especially when it's snowing and in the twenties. I don't even understand why people grow palms in climate like DC.

BTW on that 60 F (even on the 48 F day) I definitely felt the strength of the sun, it even felt a bit hot on the 60 F day.

Sounds like good winter weather. The only problem with DC is the potential for excessive snow accumulations, but the overall patterns are nice.

I agree completely, aside that I want excessive snow accumulations ! variable weather in winter is nice, as long as it does not go above 60F territory (no more than a few times a winter I mean)

Lol and you made fun of me for saying sunny windless 50 degree day in full sun in Jan feels a bit hot. Sun is even stronger down here lol.

Yeah it looks silly on the cold snowy days in the year but during the summer they look in place. IMO they are fine and cool to have in DC!

There was a pv outbreak even this winter. They happen almost every winter in eastern North America in recent years. We went down to 8F, with a high temp of 20F. Very short lived compared to the past two winters, but that was a piece of the PV we got in Feb after George went on and on about it hitting England lol.

Here, just so you remember:

Btw this is called a cross polar flow. Right into the Midwest and guess where else?

By "where else" he meant the heart of Western Europe mostly the UK and France.

Of course, they never got it, but we sure did right on the 14th of Feb.

It got destroyed by the better geography Europe has than we do. North America is the favorite place in the world where the PV likes to take up residence.

And that was a mild winter for sure. You should have been there in 2014 or 2015.

60 and 50 are very different, and then sun is stronger in Feb in DC than it is in Jan in Raleigh. The difference in latitude is barely three degrees, and the sun angle in mid-Jan is 7-8 degrees weaker than in mid-Feb. Anyway the day in question that I "made fun" of you for was a day in the low 40s, not 50 F. Again, 41-43 F is quite different from 50 F.
