Is Cascadia a nickname for the PNW?

Yes its a nickname for PNW. I pick Vancouver because I live in Portland, Oregon (I'm an Oregonian native) which is in Pacific Northwest with eeriely similar climate, moist, cool and mild winter with dry, warm and sunny summers. Other non-weather related reason includes skiing, evergreens, landscape beauty at Vancouver plus its not far from my birthplace and where I lived my whole life.

I choose London mainly due to the higher temperatures year round and lower temperature range than here. Vancouver may be sunnier in the summer but the rest of the year I don't think there is much difference sunshine wise.

Hmm tricky, neither are ideal, London can get very warm in the summer.. and it's also pretty dry, and that urban heat will reduce the chance of snow even more..

Still.. I would rather live in London than Vancouver.. if only London was more prone to snow!

Vancouver over London, for me. I've lived in both, London is often rainy even in the summer months, and the air quality was horrendous. Vancouver summers, even if quite similar in terms of absolute temperature, feel much more like real summers due to the sun.

Funny - I never really notice air quality, but then again I've lived in a city all my life.

I haven't chosen yet because I can't decide. Both climates look pretty good to me (I'm very close to Vancouver anyway).

Both climates are nearly as bad as Siberia! Never any real heat

Vancouver by a narrow margin...

I think he's referring to summertime heat and in this case, he's correct. Yakutsk's July temperatures are on par with Vancouver's.
