During the depths of winter the mildness of Eureka, CA seems very appealing compared to where I am. Similar latitude, but not cold, and barely any frosts. Looking at the rest of the year, doesn't seem as good. Anyone prefer Eureka?
Eureka is like a year-round southern winter, which isn't that bad for me. My main complaint is that Eureka gets no snow, so this monotony would probably get boring to me like a year-round hot desert climate would.
I prefer Eureka's temperature stability year round. In the summer, if you really crave heat, you can drive a little ways inland out of the fog belt and get blazing hot temperatures.
I visited Eureka once in Sept, and leaving an east coast summer I was freezing in Eureka. I met people there from Redding and remember them telling me it was 95 in Redding just over the coast range. I was floored by that cause we have nothing similar in the east. Both places have cool summer nights which I don't like. I guess neither. One the winter is too cold, the other the summer is too cool.

Amherst. I would just have to get used to cold winters I guess, but summers are way nicer. Eureka is a real "Groundhog Day" climate temp wise. The max temps would be like been permanently stuck in the colder half of the year here. I almost become a Eurekaen/Eurekanite (?) at one stage.
Easy for me, I am an east of the Mississippi gal! The river, that is!
The weather in Mass. would suit me very well! Eureka has little variance and very borning! I need that wide swing of temps!
