The steamy lower Mississippi Valley is dealing with terrible flooding, and that seems bad enough. However, as officals might be saving New Orleans from flooding by opening spillways - flooding of the low country is sending a lot of things other things into the water and into houses, commerical buildings, schools, churches, ...etc.
The Army Corp intends to open the Morganza spillway early today, which will flood a much larger area into the bayous/deltas where there is alot of wildlife. Deer have been seen on the roofs of houses, while Copper Heads/Rattlesnakes and the
very aggressive Cotton Mouth have been taking shelter in homes, business, churches, even up in utility lines. Meanwhile alligators are migrating into suburban areas as the flee the rising water. They shot a 12 foot alligator along the banks of the Mississippi yesterday.
