It's Australia. Both for average and extremes. According to australian Bureal of Meteorology , lowest temperature was -23C(-9F) whereas Brazil's was -14C(6F).

Which part of Australia? I am sure Darwin is warmer and Hobart is cooler than most of Brazil.

If you meant locations at a similar latitude, then they are very similar.
But most of southern Australia is well further south, and hence winters are considerably colder.
