I am generally in the heat-lover camp but Khartoum falls in a zone of D-letter climates that fringe the southern Sahara ( it's SaHELL ). Just as many cold continental climates are only decent in their three summer months, Khartoum is only tolerable in its three "winter" months. Very much a D climate...

Even in Khartoum's hottest months if you lead a nocturnal lifestyle and avoid the heat of the day, there should be plenty of hours in the day when you can spend outdoors comfortably. Not so IMO in winter in a city like Winnipeg or Saskatoon.
