Texas is currently suffering through an exteme drought, but it looks like parts of the lonestar state may see some much needed rain from Tropical Storm Don. Although flooding could be an issue in some areas, the best scenario will hopefully play out, i.e. beneficial tropical rains without the destructive winds. Tropical Storm watches and warnings are currently in effect for the Texas coast.

Am I wrong about or this season is less powerful than last ones? Up to now I haven't heard about any hurricane treatening US coast.

The peak of the hurricane season is in September, so it's no surprise that there hasn't been much activity. But it'll probably get busier during the next couple months.
