High of 78 today - sea breeze, mostly clear sky with a few fluffy white clouds - the perfect day.

My best friend lives in Louisville, KY - it has been downright miserable there this past month - set a record for high temps.

At my gym I love to visit the sauna from time to time.
They set it around 110 F and it usually takes 15-20 minutes for me to even break a sweat.
Before I break a sweat, half the time I sit there I don't even notice the sauna's heat.

Steve-o, if you think I don't know what I'm talking about, then why is it every year I visit to the Carolinas, even the hotter years when it's been 90-103 F for our whole 2-week vacation is one of the reasons I'm disappointed to leave is knowing that I'll be returning home to afternoons in the 60's and 70's???

BTW those Texan forecasts I liked were only 93 F and 90 F respectively.

You should move further south Cold Canadian I currently live in the central US at less than 40N latitude. That is much too far south for me! The heat and humidity are unbearable in the summer, and most people I know agree with me.

That is much too far south for me! The heat and humidity are unberable in the summer, and most people I know agree with me.
The furthest south I can move in Canada is about 41 degrees near Detroit.
The summers are a hair warmer and more humid, but not much work there, plus their climate is almost identical.

Do you have to wear long pants outside?

For me I find 90's F and even low 100's F no problem, as long as I can wear lightweight, breathable clothing; preferably t-shirt, shorts and sandals.

I have worked outside in layers into the low-mid 90's F; t-shirt, pants, coveralls, workboots, work gloves and hard hat. That wasn't fun, but still tolerable, provided I could take a water break whenever I wanted.

In the Great Plains we have weeks and weeks of temperatures above 95F with humidity above 50%. Therefore, the heat index is usually over 105F+ When it is that hot and humid no one wants to be outside at all. Their were days when the heat index was around 110F+ and the air temperature was over 100F.

What I noticed on vacation is that either "extreme" heat with air in the high 90's F and heat index around 110 F is that usually it either feels good, or I'm indifferent to it.

I'm always pleased that while I might be totally oily I feel so much nicer than bone-rattling, finger and toe stabbing cold.

Believe it or not, the summer in Salt Lake City this year was hotter than even the Dallas/Ft Worth region. We had 5 days over 100 while SLC was more than triple that this year. We also had a ton of rain which helped to keep temps down and in the 80s to lower 90s many days. San Antonio and Austin didn't even hit 100 this year if I remember correctly!
