here it is a bit after 9 PM and the temp:

temp: 88
heat index: 88
humidity: 47%

we are still hot, but the heat index is better because of the lower humidity.

Did you catch that Heat Index 118!!!!!!!!!!!
Dew point of 84 degrees with a 118 degree heat index?!

That's absolutely unimaginable.

We get a dry heat here, luckily. It only gets humid when the thunderstorms move in, and that also means the temperatures go down generally.

However, this summer has been almost unbearable for me. We had the single hottest month on record this past July. The average high was 97.6 degrees, which was actually only second on record, but coupled with the warm nights (record high average low of 70.3 degrees), it was the hottest month on record with an overall average of 84.0 degrees. We also had a monthly record 24 days at or above 95 degrees! It was pretty much a constant, unending heatwave from the last week of June through the third week of July. Luckily it's not a humid heat, though. Also, the last week of July and first week of August the monsoon moisture moved in and it mostly cooled down. It did get humid, but the dewpoints here are only 60-65 degrees when it's humid. Whooop-de-do, right? And when it's humid, it's generally cool enough to offset that (although the swamp coolers don't work once the humidity gets that high, and my house doesn't have AC). However, we're in another heatwave again; it got to 100 degrees for the 14th time this summer today, and it's expected to be about 100 again tomorrow, before monsoon moisture moves back in and cools things down again.

Bob, how do you stand it with no a/c?????

We would simply melt if we didn't have a/c. Mine stays on 24/7, of course it is a central unit, but it hardly ever goes off during the summertime, only a tiny bit at night.

I could not breathe in hot conditions if not for my sweet little unit.

We are already at 88 with heat index of 94 and it is just a bit after nine. Today's high is expected to be 104; tommorrows at 105 and the humidity has once again moved back into place. Heat warnings are in effect until further notice, sigh. even my swimming pool is too hot . Currently our humidity is at 55% and the dew point is 62%. Another long hot day....

Oh no fair HDL, my electric bill runs over 400 per month, for a 1600 sq. ft house! I hate to see what it will be next month. sigh.

High today was 104, heat index was way up there, not as bad as it could as humidity was not so bad, and currently at 6PM we are:

100 temp and heat index of 99 hey hey, lost some triple digit BEFORE dark...
