There's really no contest.
February 1, 2011: Blizzard conditions with 17" of snow.

May 22, 2011: An EF5 tornado kills 125 people, making it the deadliest single tornado in the U.S. since 1953.

August 2, 2011: A new record high temperature for the month of August -- 110 degrees.

Joplin, MO deserves a tranquil fall.

Missouri sits at the cross-roads of cold air coming down from Canada...tropical air coming up from Gulf/Florida...and the fast westerly upper air flow. So not too suprising that the weather can get so wild. I'm spent weather-wise too (lol). Here in the Middle Atlantic states we've had record snow in winter, record heat (the temp in my greenhouse hit 140 F and cracked the roof), and a tornado not far away killed 8 people. I'm ready for some tranquil weather myself!
