McMurdo Station - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'll give this a solid D. It's not an F because...um...December and January look nice compared to the rest of the year.

The average temps for May-June are puzzling as there isn't much difference. June-July-August looks a little more normal. I looked at Vostok Station and May is actually colder there than June is. This must be related to wind patterns.

I love winter, but I'd also like to have a summer. F. (Though for some reason this climate is much more appealing to me than Iqaluit, Nunavut! I like how dry it is, too).

I give this one an F, but i would choose this place over Singapore or the tropics any day.

How is this more appealing than Iqualit? Average summer highs are in the low 50s.

I can't answer that question. Just for whatever strange reason, it is.

There are no mosquitoes here during the summer. I remembered correctly from reading that Antarctica is the only continent where mosquitoes don't live. The Northern Arctic is plagued by the bird-sized mosquitoes during the cooler months. Anywhere there is permafrost will be extremely mosquito infested. They're usually seen in large swarm that blacken the sky.

Why an 'F'? I thought this would be paradise for you?
