Il Caisson (pronunced Eee-yih Kai-shon) has an excellent climate marked by four seasons: a cool, wet winter; a mild, dry spring; a warm, humid summer; and a balmy, wet fall.
Winter lasts from roughly late November to late February. During winter, temperatures are in the lower to upper 60's (15-20C), and it rains most every day, usually in the afternoon. The rain, although daily, is very light and usually subsides within an hour of onset. Most nights get down to the mid 40's to mid 50's (7-14C), with the upper range being more common in the early part of the season. Frosts occur an average of every 4 years, mostly in January and February, though they have been known to occur as early as 28 November and as late as 4 April. On a typical winter day, clear conditions are present from the early morning hours on to the mid-afternoon hours, and cloudy or mostly cloudy conditions persist after that.
The first evidence of Spring is usually had in early to mid February, with the occasional entirely clear or partly cloudy day. This becomes the rule in late February to early March. By late March it rains only sporadically, and clear skies persist throughout most days. Spring brings with it gradual warming, from normal highs in the mid 60's to lower 70's (17C-22C) in late February up to the lower to mid 80's (27-31C) in May and June. Lows during this period are between the lower 40's (5C) in late February to the upper 50's (15C) in May and June. Spring also shows the most variation in temperatures, with both cold snaps as low as 32F / 0C and heat waves exceeding 90F / 32C common in the early and late periods of the season respectively. Dry relative humidity readings in the 30's and 40's % are the rule from March to June.
Summer, which lasts from late June or early July to mid-September, is ushered in by a rapid increase in relative humidity at the end of June, a corresponding rise in overnight temperatures from around 60F (15C) to 70F (21C), and the cloudy skies in the afternoon hours. During this season, rain falls mostly during thunderstorms, which occur an average of 5 - 10 times a month. Dewpoints are usually in the upper 60's to mid 70's (19-24C) at the peak of summer.
Fall witnesses a cooling of daytime temperatures from the lower 80's (27-29C) in mid-September to the mid-60s in mid-November, a less dramatic decrease in overnight temperatures from the mid-60s to the mid-50s, an increase in cloudiness, and a transition from rain primarily falling during thunderstorm events to an almost-daily phenomenon. Rain is slightly less frequent than during the winter, but in October and November falls in a greater quantity.
B, Not too bad, although the 80 days of rain in the winter months (for only 10 inches) would be a bit annoying. Even out the rainy days throughout the year, and it would be a mighty fine gardening climate.
D. Looks like a slightly less oppressive version of Florida.
