Been noticing a lot of sunny days in Springfield before T.S. Irene came on August 28, 2011.

Anyone notice patterns based on town or county?

That was from High pressures over us and to east of us that Irene had nowhere to go but squeeze in between and up the coast.

Ppatterns are visibible but your question is just called a setup.. Typically patterns last 6-10 weeks. 4 weeks being a short pattern. 12 weeks being a long one.

For instance... We were in a dry average temp pattern starting June 24th. That lasted 6 weeks then it became rainy and warm since August 7th.

We are now 8 weeks into this rainy pattern. It should change soon...In fact we're supposed to be dry after tomorrow so this could be it. Notice the temps are below average too.

So the whole pattern could be changing to a drier then normal precip and cooler than normal temps. (Im thinking average temps)

Next pattern change should be by December... but something worries me that this dry spell will be a short temporary pattern(3-4 weeks)

BTW: There's a Vermont weather thread here: //www.city-data.com/forum/vermont/

I hope our fall isn't going to be like coastal Oregon!
