Good update, I didn’t notice Key West fell off. I'm not really all that surprised, Key West is surrounded by water, so there must be at least some tempering of the daily highs. The more land based stations get the effect of land heating up faster. Also, you forgot West Palm Beach – they still have not had a day under 80 F since March.
So now it looks like it’s down to just three stations. If it has been that hot in McAllen, they might end up the sole survivor in this. If the drought and high pressure remain entrenched in Texas… and even one tropical low moves over southern Florida both Brownsville and McAllen should outlast West Palm Beach. It will be interesting to watch. Also, I check the last three stations to see who has the greatest number of days of 80 F or higher, and looks like McAllen wins. In fact, I might be wrong, but other than Miami, McAllen might have the longest time on the US mainland with days of 80 F or higher :
Brownsville - March 19th – November 14th (241 days)
McAllen - March 8th - November 11th (249 days)
West Palm Beach – March 26th – November 19th (238 days)
McAllen, TX is out (October 28th, 75*F)
Brownsville, TX is out (October 28th, 72*F)
