I've spent some time in Washington DC...and from April through early November the weather is hard to beat. DC gets plenty of sunshine, warm spring/fall temps, and good long summer hot season with daily temps that average in the 80's. Winters are cold and snow falls once in a while, but the lower latitude never allows snow to stick around long (DC average only about 25 days with snowcover). Bright winter days in the 40's and 50's are often dry and this makes hiking in the nearby Skyline Drive area nice. Still just a little to many months with mean temps below 60 F for me...but not a bad climate at all.
Excellent summers, but too cold in winter. I like my palm trees Could do with a record high higher than 41C aswell. Fairly spectacular record highs in winter considering the averages so gains marks for that.
Pretty decent climate: B
Summers are a bit too hot and humid than ideal and transitional seasons rather short but otherwise it's a nice, warm 4-season climate.
Summers aren't wet enough and winters aren't snowy enough, especially at those temperatures. But the actual temperatures aren't that bad.
F.
F is a little harsh, don't you think? I would have though that Washington DC has a sufficiently "middle of the road" climate to offer *something* to almost everyone, heat and cold lovers alike.
Too warm in winter? Are you a polar bear by any chance?
It's about 2°C cooler than my way too mild hometown in winter, not much of a change. I used the word "warm" to put summer and winter into the same sentence. And its winter record highs are completely out of place for me.
Don't get me wrong, I would fine DC's climate much more enjoyable than Paris's.
