Long time foes, which has the best climate in your eyes ?

I vote Sydney by far. Much warmer year round, sunnier and probably gets more storms aswell. Summer actually feels like summer there and the beach culture is nice. I'll also include Sydney's western suburbs, as they have a distinctly different temp range than the coast.

Sydney. Thunderstorms are more common. Fog doesn't seem as common as it is in Melbourne. And dust storms! (not that they are frequent or anything)

Melbourne, for the cooler winters and occasional occurrence of frost.

Also interesting is that, despite having much cooler winters than Miami, has the exact same record low temperature.

Frost is becoming an uncommon occurrence in the CBD. I spent a month in Melbourne in winter and don't recall seeing a ground frost in Melbourne CBD.

Well, most people in Melbourne do not live in the CBD.

And frost is obviously more prevalent in Melbourne then Sydney, especially further inland and higher up.

Sydney easily, warmer but the amount of genuinely hot and unpleasant weather there is minimal anyway. Winters are milder.
Melbourne has nearly 9 months of the year in winter clothing.
Neither are perfect by any means.
