I don't think this has been done before. How would you rate Portland's climate? I just came back from there and was surprised to see how noticeably warmer it was than Vancouver, BC at this time of year. I wasn't expecting much difference or even colder nights.
Overall I give it a D+ because the stats show it can get quite chilly during the winter (btw I give Vancouver, BC a D by comparison).

D+. I'm suprised at the warmth and sunshine levels of the summer days, but loses points for cold summer nights and unlivably cloudy winters that are too cold and I'm guessing not too many thunderstorms occur here either.
Gains points for summer sunshine and relative warmth, and bragging rights over Seattle's and Vancouver's crappier climates.

Portland doesn't get thunderstorms. No convection, air is very stable.

Portland is sunnier than I realized, though of course there's a dramatic tilt towards summer.
I'll give it an A. I love the dismal, rainy winters. Summers are comfortable.

Well, remember Portland is closer to the ocean than Vancouver, BC is and Portland is 250 miles south. Put it in perspective, a city that is 200 miles south of me is Richmond, VA and it's always several degrees °C warmer than where I live.
I give the climate a B+. Spain in the summer, England in the winter is how I summarize it Western Oregon has my 3rd favorite climate pattern

I rate an even C. Summers are pretty pleasant overall. Spring (May in particular) can have severe heat waves. I remember in 2006 we had some days in the mid 90s and then in 2008 again. Thunderstorms are very rare and when they do occur, it's not really anything to get excited about...but they can happen at any point during the year, even in mid winter. Winter is a bit mild and dreary and not nearly snowy enough.

A-, highly liveable temperate climate, yearly means slightly coolish - but could easily live here.

A+. Summers warm but not too hot, never humid, and I love the gray, dismal winters. That's my kind of weather right there. Nothing like a calm, mellow, rainy day to soothe the soul.
