How would you rate Ponta Delgada's climate?

I rate it a solid B... perpetual mildness and no cold to speak of whatsoever.
Record low is an astonishing 4.8°C.. about the same as Key West

Only a C-. Poor sunshine total if correct (1600-1800 in my scheme), and this drags the rating down. A bit much rain in winter, too.

I'd say B- . The winter looks great, but the summer too cloudy and slighlty coolish.

Boring, cloudy, wet and feels really warm merely from mid July to mid September I guess.

I prefer Nice.

Aside from the absence of cold, this climate has few assets.

C. No thanks! A few months of cold and a warm summer > perpetual cool weather.

Too many rainy days, too... tepid, but not awful. B-/C+ for non-winter winters.

C-.

Too rainy and cloudy. Those same temperature stats would be a great deal better in my view in a drier climate with sunnier days.

Since at these daily high temperatures this place has for most of the year (60-70F), whether it is sunny and clear, cloudy or totally pouring all day, can make quite a big difference in how warm or cool I'd feel (or whether it's a nice day to go outside!).

B. Not too bad. It could be sunnier, but I've lived in a cloudier climate. A few less rain days would be nice as well. It would be an awesome climate for a wide range of plants.

A-, temps very moderate but still distinct seasons.
Too many rainy days in summer for the purist Mediterranean climate, but would have absolutely no problem living here.
