Interesting to me that Philly is close in temp to both New Orleans and SPI, however the heat index at SPI is 104F.
Around 5:00 this morning while still dark we had a massive thunderstorm that lasted about 45 minutes. Lightning was almost continuous. I do enjoy that. What is really cool is how the rain comes down in torrents and then in the morning sunny skies. When I looked out the window during the thick of it I saw little rivers running down my street. By 8:45 am when I left for work the street was dry.

It is amazing to me sometimes that in the USA we can have such diff conditions from one end to the other.The dew point in Death Valley is 27F and the visibility is "miles".
