Well, that is a mystery because you are only across the channel and the warm air arrived here on monday.

Perhaps it has already arrived but there is an Inversion. It has left here now anyway.

The western edge of the European anticyclone is/was roughly over London area. We are to the south of it, so we get E winds, while you were northwest of it, with S-SW winds.
