For me it would be very close I don't like snow but if there's anywhere's that I could which regularly gets snow it would be Denver. Plus there's lots of skiing in the Rocky Mountains
Melbourne for its warmer winters. Denver's summer is too short.
Denver's summers are about 2 months with September being like a San Franciscan summer. Better than most place that have like 6 months of never ending heat.

I think of summers as the time when it doesn't get cold rather than the time of heat. So in that way, Denver's summer is rather short.
Tough call. I voted for Denver because of the sunshine but really I could go either way. I what I imagine Melbourne to be is somewhat colored by certain people's descriptions of it on this forum, usually not very positive . From the stats, Melbourne doesn't look bad at all. No chance snow makes winters kind of bland, though, while Denver is just a stone's throw away from some of the best skiing areas in the world.

Melbourne is not as bad as some people make it out to be. Denver would be more interesting, but as a place to live? I'd take Melbourne over Denver and most cities in the northern half of the US.
Both of these cities have a reputation for quick chaning weather, thought for different reasons.
Denver is a semi-arid continental climate with four seasons. It has modest precipatation which includes a fair amount of snow but which rapidly melts, while there's over 3000 hours of sun.
Melbourne has a modest oceanic climate which can rapidly change which earns it's "four seasons in one day" moniker. Snow is rare while there's just over 2000 hours of sun
Wiki is wrong as per usual! 1932-1967 (city site) averaged 2069 hours, 1967-1999 (Laverton) averged 2262 hours and at the current airport site (1999-open) 2373.
From the airport site - monthly stats. in order from Jan to Dec - : 268.0; 224.5; 227.3; 189.7; 142.8; 121.8; 136.7; 167.7; 183.2; 223.8; 224.9 and 262.7 = 2373.1 hours per annum.
