A very beautiful place, and the climate actually doesn't look too bad. Winter is actually on par with say Hobart. I'm guessing it's pretty grey most of the time, but not too windy with a lot of light rain. Snow falls about a couple of times a year. Summer is nice, but extremely wet; there is plentiful rain in all months except December, which is still sort of wet. Summer temperatures might feel a bit cool with all that rain, similar to Melbourne. An interesting thing about the climate, if wikipedia is to be believed, is February is the coldest month. Strange for an alpine climate near the tropic of Cancer. The biggest downside for me is that mist/fog is too prevalent (from personal experience), and like a lot of alpine climates the weather is changeable and varies a lot from valley to ridge-top. Also it's pretty darn wet. If Hanoi gets 1650 hours of sunshine a year, and Kunming about the same or less, I imagine Sapa would be a pretty gloomy climate though. I'd still give it a B- for pretty decent temps.
Far too wet. From some sources Hanoi gets a lot less than 1650 hrs per year, so Sapa probably gets a lot less as well. Provisional D unless sun is much better than I suspect.
D...temperatures are not bad, but the rain? The rainiest month has 26 inches of rain. That's like five tropical storms in one month! Forget about seeing the sun much in summer...
