Gulf Coast gets cold snaps. Southern California coast is milder in winter even though their summers are a lot cooler. Hawaii is the only place in the U.S. that NEVER gets too cold for your tastes so you should vote for the West Coast as you can pick the location on each coast.

West Coast.

Milder and sunnier.

I wouldn't count Anchorage to be part of the US contagious west coast though (it's a whole different climate up there).

West coast= Palm springs, rest of coachella valley (if you consider that the coast) (probobly one of the warmest parts in ....the continental US year round after key west and parts of South FL) not LA
Gulf Coast: Brownsville, TX Practically semi arid
East Coast: Key West, FL

While i would choose the West coast as it has some of the hottest climates, it also has cold climates up north and in the mountains, so since i have to average it out i would choose the Gulf Coast as it averages the warmest.

I chose Gulf Coast because it most specifically embodies my preferences, although the southern East Coast is good too. A breeding ground of thunderstorms and lush rainfall, reliable humidity in the summer, and charming mild winters which are neither summery nor cripplingly cold.

I would have to go with the East Coast - esp from South Carolina to Key West. Still, mostly because it has Florida though. I like warm weather and even the northernmost cities in Florida like Daytona Beach or St. Augustine are as warm in the winter as LA or San Diego. I love the tropical thunderstorms, warm seas, and lushness of Florida.
