I've attached the climate data for Yakutsk, Russia, considered to be the coldest city with a population of 100,000 in the world. I've compared it to a fictional near-Antarctic city called "W-town," which has similar annual temperatures.
Which climate would you prefer and why? Assume that W-town has similar amounts of sun to Yakutsk for the time of year.
Note: The average temperature for December in W-town should be +2.4 C, not -2.4 C.
Yakutsk easily for meaningful summers that are very warm but not hot. With those temps W-town would need at least 60% sunshine annually in order for me to consider it.

My thoughts exactly. May well be a warmer Antarctic Peninsula.
