while this may be true for a certain portion (e.g the uk, coastal belgium, northern germany and the netherlands) practically all of france, 2/3 of germany, all of austria and switzerland below 500-600m is quiet warm in summer, with temperatures of +30C pretty commonplace.
No just no. NOWHERE in germany has warm or even pleasant winters. 24c highs and 12c lows do not qualify as warm. the only countries of western europe that has warm summers are parts of spain, portugal, italy, and parts of southern france(and all those tiny western european countries that I don't care to name). 1 month with an avg temp of at least 22c for it to qualify as warm.

But that is your subjective opinion.. it is by no means a fact. Considering that you hail form the land of eternal warmth, it's no surprise that your expectations are higher than most. And you appear to have missed the point entirely - summers in most of western Europe aren't as cool as people think, with Frankfurt averaging highs above 25C in July and August.

actually 22c is the number that koppen decide to use to qualify as warm summer for temperate climates. and only the nations I mentioned before reaches that threshold.
Irrelevant. Temperature tolerance varies from person to person. Anyone who claims that there is a gold standard for what is considered warm is a very silly person.
And besides, the warm summer continental climate covers all of Eastern Europe.
Except this year? Certainly a warm summer where I live. July in the top 10 warmest ever, on par with August 1995, and August the warmest since 2003 (not hard to be fair due to recent August's being very cool).
I've seen a few misconceptions. Americans tend to think that Canada is cold year-round, and by the same token, most Canadians think that northern Canada and Alaska are also cold year-round. Both are misconceptions.
Anything below 23 degrees in the day in summer is shyte. Our summer was quite a bit sunnier than yours interestingly this year. Go Buxton!
